Tiffany Alvarez Smith

Managing Director, Breakthrough Results Fund Network at Achievement Network (ANet)

Tiffany Alvarez Smith believes every child in our country deserves access to quality educational opportunities, regardless of family status or income. She began her career as a classroom teacher in the South Bronx and Brooklyn, New York, directly instructing over 200 students. Now, Tiffany works to advance equity and increase instructional impact for thousands of students across the country at the Achievement Network (ANet), a national education non-profit. As the Managing Director of ANet’s Breakthrough Results Fund, Tiffany works closely with school districts in Bellevue, WA and Carlsbad, NM. The goal of the Fund is to study the impact of ANet’s system and school level support to understand what's possible in instructional improvement. In this role, Tiffany coaches superintendents and district level leadership teams to support equitable outcomes for all students through strong instructional leadership, strategic vision setting, and targeted change management. Tiffany is a Teach for America alumna and holds an MS in Teaching from Pace University and a BA in Sociology from Stanford University, where she is active in Stanford’s alumni community. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education from Fordham University's Graduate School of Education.
